The fact that this article is titled the right motorcycle boot and not the right motorbike shoe is your first clue, and do I need to spell it out – there is no such thing as the right motorcycle thong, they are just wrong!
Key factors to consider when selecting a pair of motorbike boots;
1. Size
2. Weather
3. Crash Protection
4. Ride durability
5. Comfort
1. Size
Ride conditions obviously vary; it could be hot, cold, a long tour or short commute. Each time you go out – unless you have one pair of trusty socks – you’ll most likely change the socks you wear.
Winter you might have woolies, summer you might have sports socks. So take a couple of pairs and test the ‘give’ in a boot. Are you toes squished or does the boot have have velcro adjusters around the calf.
And… as much as the oldies don’t like to admit it, after long tours not moving your legs on a hot day, your feet will swell a bit, so consider if adjustments are needed.
